The Challenge

Oliver had just completed a comprehensive home remodel—new flooring, fresh paint, updated kitchen—and the house looked fantastic. But the staircase suddenly looked incomplete without a proper handrail. What had been "good enough" before the remodel now stood out as unfinished.

The challenge was twofold: first, the handrail needed to look like it was part of the original remodel plan, not something tacked on afterward. Second, installation had to be done carefully to avoid damaging any of the fresh paint, new flooring, or updated finishes. This wasn't just about adding safety—it was about completing the vision of the remodel without compromising any of the work that had just been done.

The Solution

We designed and fabricated a custom interior handrail system that provides solid support while maintaining a clean, refined appearance appropriate for daily indoor use. The design focused on comfort and safety—proper diameter for a secure grip, smooth welds that won't snag on clothing or hands, and solid mounting that inspires confidence when you actually need to hold the rail.

The rail was fabricated from steel pipe sized for comfortable grip and structural strength. All welds were ground smooth and finished to interior-quality standards—no rough edges or industrial appearance. The mounting brackets were designed to be unobtrusive while providing rock-solid support anchored directly into wall studs.

We took precise measurements of the staircase on-site, then fabricated the rail to match the exact angle and length needed. The finish was selected to complement the home's existing hardware and fixtures, creating visual continuity rather than an afterthought installation.

Installation was scheduled to minimize disruption to the household, with the majority of fabrication work completed in the shop and final mounting happening in a few hours once everything was ready.
